
Aria Evans.
Aria Evans (Winnipeg) [they/them] brings a culturally sensitive and intersectional perspective to the fields of Intimacy Direction and Coordination. With over a decade of experience as a choreographer for both film and stage, Aria is passionate about realistic, grounded portrayals of intimacy.
Their background includes working as a movement director for actors and teaching dance for the camera at universities, high schools, and creative organizations across Canada. A strong advocate for consent, inclusion, and representation, Aria draws on their lived experience as a multiracial, queer, and gender non-conforming person to foster braver, more inclusive creative spaces.
Aria’s credits include work with the Stratford Festival, Soulpepper Theatre, Théâtre Cercle Molière, Factory Theatre, Coal Mine Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, and the Canadian Opera Company, as well as the University of Winnipeg and Toronto Metropolitan University. In film and television, Aria has contributed to projects for OutTV, Black Entertainment Television, Lifetime, and numerous independent production companies.
Having worked both in front of and behind the camera, Aria brings a story-driven approach to intimacy work across both large-scale and indie settings. Their combination of training, certification, and deep knowledge of movement and film supports the creation of compassionate, trauma-informed, and equitable environments on set and stage.
